How to add music to the Instagram story

Creating an Instagram post is easy and straightforward, but if you want to make your post entertaining, you need to be thoughtful. Hopefully, Instagram has more tools to make the stories entertaining and fun for the user.

You may have a photo or video. You can choose stickers or filers to overlay on your post, but one primary factor is missing. Yes, Music.

Add Music From Instagram

How do I get the music sticker on Instagram?

Follow the below steps,

1. Tap the Camera button or your Story Icon.
2. On the Camera, the screen either snaps a Pic or Video.
3. Add desire Filter or special effects to the Pic or Video.
4. Now, Tap Sticker Icon on top and Select Music Sticker.

Music to Ig Story Search

Follow the below steps,

1. On the Music screen, tap the Search field.
2. Search for desired song or music by typing on the text box.
3. You can filter the songs by artist or album.
4. Tap the Play Button to hear a song.

Editing and Adding music to Stories

Follow the below steps,

1. After you select, Tap the song you like to be in a story.
2. If it is Image Duration of music is 15sec. If it is a video song will run till the video ends.
3. For photo, you can select which part of the song to play by dragging the slider bar to fix that 15sec audio.
4. Tap Photo thumbnail to change the image.
5. This music features available in the form of lyrics too.
6. After selecting music, it appears as a music sticker on the post.

Positioning the Music Sticker

Know the tricks given below

1. After finishing your selection, the song will display as a sticker.
2. Many options are available to resize, position the sticker by pinching, dragging.
3. Change the orientation of the sticker by twisting the sticker with two fingers.
4. Double-tap to return to the previous version, which will change the appearance.
5. For video, you can make the sticker move by pinning the sticker.

Viewing and Publishing Stories With Music

1. After completing the above process, Tap to Publish the story.
2. You can limit the audience by selecting Close friend or only to specific people.
3. To view your Story, Tap on Your story Icon; music on the Instagram story will play automatically. Tapping on the music sticker will prompt the play/pause button.

Why my music on Instagram is not working?

1.  Update the Instagram App.
2. Try Sign in and out of the App.
3. Uninstall and Reinstall the App.
4. Try Updating Instagram App using WI-FI.
5. Try Toggling between Creator and Personal account setting.
6. If not solved, Contact Instagram.

Add music to Uploaded Media.

1. Add audio to Instagram post an existing photo or video in a story.
2. Tap the camera icon.
3. Swipe up to access the photo library.
4. Select the images to add and tap Next.
5. Tap the sticker icon in the toolbar.
6. Now select the Music sticker.

Settling Uploaded Media Story

It is the same as adding music to an Instagram story. Tap on the music sticker, select the song, dragging to the desired portion now publish.

Adding Music Using External music Apps

To add music from Spotify, Soundcloud or Shazam, you need to create an account from that domain.

1/Using Spotify

1. Open Spotify.
2. Select the song plays on a story.
3. Tap the Ellipse icon and Select the Share option.
4. Select Instagram Stories From the Share Option.
5. Tap on Share to Your Story.
6. Tap DONE

 OPEN Spotify

1. After posting the story, it will give a link back post to play on Spotify.
2. Tap your account to view the post.
3. This Will open the song in the Spotify app.

2/Using SoundCloud

1. Open SoundCloud.
2. Select the song plays on a story.
3. Select the Share option.
4. Select Instagram Stories From the Share Option.
5. Tap on Share to Your Story.
6. Tap DONE

OPEN SoundCloud

1. After posting the story, it will give a link back post to play on Soundcloud.
2. Tap your account to view the post.
3. This Will open the song in the SoundCloud app.

Using Shazam

Shazam is different from the above two music services. Apple Company owns this Service. This app Keeps track of all the music genres and songs you had played previously. If you can’t remember the song’s name or genre, Shazam will suggest the pieces to you.

1. Open Shazam app.
2. If there is a song playing near you, allow the Shazam app to recognize the song.
3. Then tap the music displays in the Shazam app.
4. Tap More and select share
5. From the share, option choose Instagram Stories.
6. It will share on Instagram story.

OPEN Shazam

1. After posting the story, it will give a link back post to play on Shazam.
2. Tap your account to view the post.
3. This Will open the song in the Shazam app.
